Newly appointed Executive team at MFATT

The Mutual Fund Association of Trinidad and Tobago (MFATT) held its sixteenth Annual Meeting on the 30th July, 2024. The following Member Representatives were appointed to the Executive team for the 2024/2025 term of office:

Alesha Phelps
Chairman/President- Mutual Fund Association of Trinidad and Tobago Ltd.
Designated Representative of Sagicor Investments Trinidad and Tobago Limited

Alesha has over 25 years’ experience in the financial services sector. Her background spans a wide array of experience in varying industries, including Audit, Accounting, Risk, Mortgages and Investments. She has held various senior positions within the Sagicor Group and is currently Head of Sagicor Investments Trinidad and Tobago Limited.

Alesha holds the designation of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and is a Fellow Member of the Association since 2005. She was ranked 1st place in the Caribbean in the final Level of the 2000 ACCA exams. She is also the holder of a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Heriot-Watt University and a 2024 Level III candidate in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program.

Alesha is currently the Secretary of the Securities Dealers Association of Trinidad and Tobago (SDATT).

 

Abbey Mohammed

Abbey has over 15 years of experience in the Financial Services Sector, both locally and internationally. She currently holds the position of Head- First Citizens Portfolio and Investment Management Services where she leads the team responsible for managing Mutual Funds, Pension Plans and Privately Managed Accounts. 

She has completed a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (with Honours) in Economics from the University of Guelph, Canada, a Masters of Business Administration (with Distinction) from Edinburgh Business School and the designation of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

She is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder.

Narisa Hosein
Treasurer – Mutual Fund Association of Trinidad and Tobago Ltd.
Designated Representative of Guardian Group Trust Limited

 

Narisa holds the post of Vice President- Investments at Guardian Asset Management and Investment Services Limited, responsible for developing, implementing and executing the investment strategy of Guardian Asset Management and Investment Services Limited, its suite of mutual funds and group and client portfolios. She has more than 22 years of general banking, investment, sales, project management, portfolio management, capital markets and trading experience. 

Narisa is a holder of an MBA in Finance from the Edinburgh Business School in the UK and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder.  She is the Designated Representative of Guardian Group Trust Limited on the MFATT’s Board of Directors, and is a Past President.
